Visualizing Data and Data Storytelling

Predictive Analytics and Data Analytics are powerful – but if you can’t communicate your results – no one will know. At this meetup we’ll hear from Ben Garvey of Magento Business Intelligence, a data visualization expert. He’ll discuss best practices, approaches, and the tools that he uses to communicate complex findings.

Ben worked for 10 years in industrial automation after getting a BS in Computer Science from American University. His greatest life achievement was being thanked in the credits of Age of Empires 2. A self described chart junkie, Ben developed what Technically Philly called, “the coolest, most comprehensive City of Philadelphia budget visualization you’ve ever seen” for Brett Mandel’s 2013 campaign for Philadelphia City Controller. Ben is currently the engineering manager at Magento Business Intelligence (formerly RJMetrics), a full stack data warehousing and reporting platform for eCommerce.
